Baptism
"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other Sacraments." — CCC 1213
Through Baptism we are freed from sin, reborn as sons and daughters of God and incorporated into the Mystical Body of Christ, which is the Church. This is the single most important day of our lives. We would be honored here at St. Paul's Catholic Church to assist you in preparing for this Sacrament.
Eucharist
As Catholics we believe that the Eucharist is truly the real presence (Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity) of Jesus, under the appearances of bread and wine.
"The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life." — CCC 1324
All the other Sacraments and everything we do in life should be oriented and flow forth from our reception of the Eucharist that we are privileged to receive at Mass.
Reconciliation
“Those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from God’s mercy for the offense committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins.”
— Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1422
Anointing of the Sick
"Are there any who are sick among you? Let them send for the priests of the Church and let the priests pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord; the prayer of faith will save the sick persons, and the Lord will raise them up; and if they have committed any sins their sins will be forgiven them" (James 5:14-15).
Marriage
"The marriage covenant, by which a man and woman form with each other an intimate communion of life and love, has been founded and endowed with its own special laws by the Creator. By its very nature it is ordered to the good of the couple, as well as to the generation and education of children. Christ the Lord raised marriage between the baptized to the dignity of a Sacrament."
— Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1660
Holy Orders
“Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry.”
— Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1536
